Who are The PopUp Team?
Amongst other things, they have been called Earth's Mightiest Heroes and A Ragtag Bunch of Misfits. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them... maybe you can hire The PopUp Team.
Who are your biggest inspirations in life and business?
My wife Lynsey, My Dad and Michelle Obama.
When I have a dilemma or a business question,
I always ask Lynsey first, think what would my Dad have done, then what would Michelle do?
It can get confusing as the answers tend to conflict !
What songs gets you motivated?
There are loads. Depends what mood I am in.
But Bryan Ferry – Lets Stick Together is always my go to.
It has a great intro. I imagine walking on stage to massive applause waving at my adoring fans.
I have a vivid imagination.
What is your key piece of advice for small businesses at this time?
Focus on your customers. 100 percent.
What do they want from you at this time?
How can you serve them now?
Who are three people dead or alive you would invite to dinner?
My Dad (dead for 20 years),
My Mum (alive but with dementia, I would like her to attend pre- dementia)
My Brother (very much alive, love him though drives me a bit mad)
I would like to say all the stuff I wished I had said before my dad died and before my mum got ill. This has reminded me to tell my brother that I love him.
What has been your biggest learning in the past year?
Confidence is a superpower.
When I feel confident, I believe I am capable of so much. I have to continue to work on my confidence every single day.
What are some resources that have had the biggest impact on you?
Predatory Thinking - Dave Trott
Brene Brown – The Call to Courage on Netflix
The Hearts Invisible Furies - John Boyne ( it’s a novel – incredibly uplifting)
Come back every week as we introduce you to a new member of The PopUp Team!
