8/8/2013

This video is all about making things happen, taking that big idea you have and getting it done.  It has been recorded for the participants of the 2013 Watford Pop-up Business School but the three keys contained within can be applied to any project you take on.

If you came to Watford, what an amazing weekend it was, 45 buzzing entrepreneurs building businesses.  We feel privileged to have worked with you and want you to stay in touch

21st September - Watford reunion

If you enjoyed the Pop-Up event in Watford or if you missed it and want to find out more then come along to the reunion event where we are all getting together again to:

  1. Find out how it has gone
  2. Alan will be running another session
  3. Network and learn from each other's experiences
The aim of the event is to create a self maintained community of entrepreneurs that all support each other going forward.  Hope to see you all there on the 21st of September in the afternoon

Hi Alan,
Thank you for the mini video on "3 keys to make things happen. Useful as it reinforced and aided my ideas as where to move onto next. . .
Well this week I have 'grabbed the bull by the horns' as they say and did some research. I have written a proposal to request funding/grant and in the process of designing posters and flyers for a taster session in October 2013
I have provisionally thought of a name for my business FLOGLO Inspires (A work in progress haha) Initial timeline was Jan 14 4.30pm . . .So still on track
In the pipeline . . to set up website as I realise that is the way to go . . .
You and Mark inspired me to jump off the fence and land on both feet facing forward (allowed to look back every now and then)

Karron, that is fantastic. What progress you have made and I love the plan. Go for it! All I would say is sell something as soon as you can, don't create everything before you start to sell. Sell and then build as you go!

So glad you are off the fence. Of course you are allowed to look back every now and again. The best way of learning and working out where to go next!

Hope to see you in September! alan

Thank you so much for the video you sent. I am so impressed at the follow up that has been done by the business pop up school.

I have made some notes and will go forward with what has been said.

I am unable to attend on 21, as I will be attending a first aid course needed for childminding..

Nice one!!!!!

Thanks, Alan - great video and more inspiring ideas! Since last week, I have got my domain name, sent my first tweet and edited my website in draft. I've also written my first blog: What is the difference between a Nutritional Therapist and a Dietician? Just have to publish now, ha ha! Today I found the perfect venue for my first weight-loss workshops in November and I booked it! So it's definitely going to happen now.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone in Sept :-)

Bev, that is amazing progress. I love how much you have done and I can see the business exploding. It is the right time and there is a huge trend towards health fitness and weight loss. You are going to have fun and help a lot of people.

Keep us updated and if you want us to promote the first event on the blog then we can write a little article about your business for our blog.

See you September. Alan

Thanks for that, Alan - your enthusiasm and encouragement is doing us all the power of good! I have now published my website although there's not much on there so far, lol. Plus it does seem rather slow at times, not sure why. It feels great to have made a start and it can only be improved from now on :-)

Good luck to everyone.

Bev,

Just had a flick through your website. What a fabulous start! That is incredible progress. I am so impressed with what you are achieving.

Where are the weight loss events going to be held? I love what you are doing and keep us informed?

As for the slowness of the website I would think it is because of the size (mbs) of the photos you are using. If it is a big photo in terms of size (not physical size but rather data mbs) then it will take longer to load. Try some different pictures and see if that helps.

Stay in touch. Alan

Thanks for these timely tips and thanks to you, Mark and the Harebreak folk for such an inspiring weekend. After the best part of 6 months struggling to try and set up a website, I am loving Weebly - it's so easy AND free! I have the structure created and just now adding content, so watch this space! I'm also putting together an online survey using Survey Monkey (borrowed the idea after being sent the one by Harebreaks) and from there a couple of blogs on ways to deal with stress and manage change.

Also, together with a colleague, we are taking a stall at the Watford Community Event on 14th Sept to exhibit our coaching services. A good way to push our boundaries, test our ideas and who knows, get some clients!

Will let you know how that goes on the 21st Sept. See you there! All the best, Deb

Deb, That is amazing work and i am glad you are loving weebly. It unlocked a lot of the internet for me too and allowed me to get on creating my own website. Well you can see by the one you have been looking at.

Love that you are using online surveys, that is fantastic. Love the idea of the community event. Have you spoke to Euan at Watford about it?

Tell me more details about it and we can put it up here for the group if you like?

See you on the 21st. Alan

Hi Deb - I am having a launch event for my first weight loss programme on 13th Nov. If I could have some of your flyers from your business, I would be happy to put them in the Welcome Packs for clients. Same applies to anyone else from the Harebreaks business network (as long as they are suitable for the target market lol!).

In return, may I send you guys some of my flyers for the 13th Nov event? :-)
