Affiliate income is one of the best ways to generate ‘passive income’ from your business.
I say ‘passive income’ in quotation marks because no income is truly passive.
But there are ways you can lower the maintenance times significantly, while still having your income snowball over time.
There are many affiliate schemes available, most of which require some digging to find. But for the sake of simplicity, this section focuses primarily on Amazon Associates because it’s probably the most popular platform out there. Mainly due to the sheer amount of products you can recommend.
Here's are the current commision rates you can expect to receive by recommending Amazon products: affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk/help/operating/schedule
In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is the act of recommending someone else's product or service and gaining commision from the sale. One thing that is massively important with affiliate marketing is being transparent with your customers.
Be sure to educate them what an affiliate link is, how it helps you out, why you are recommending these products, and how it doesn’t cost them anything extra! Perhaps most importantly, only recommend products that you actually like!
I have an entire Affiliate Disclaimer on my website that I link alongside every affiliate link I post. Whether that's in a video description, a blog post, a button on my website. Anything. Feel free to copy anything you need from it: mattestlea.com/affiliate-disclaimer
